Special Session Announced for Monday, June 9

Special Session

This morning, Governor Walz announced that a special session of the legislature is scheduled for Monday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m.. During this session, the final bills necessary to complete the state budget will receive a vote. Only those bills agreed upon will pass. The session is required to conclude within one legislative day and must adjourn sine die before 7:00 a.m. on June 10.

You can tune in to the Senate and House action starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.


Education Policy and Appropriations Bill

This is the E12 agreement, which encompasses both policy and finance within the 201-page bill. The E12 agreement does not include the harmful homeschool provisions or the elimination of nonpublic pupil aid and transportation aid, and it will be presented for a vote. For the bill to become law, it must successfully pass through both chambers and receive the signature of Governor Walz.
